    About Melanie Waddell

My preferred methods are Eclectic and Person-Centred.  I believe that people are their own expert, but they may need some support to see their strengths. This approach helps us to grow and discover the ability to see change occur. My aim is to offer that support in a comfortable and laid-back atmosphere, offering a safe space for healing to begin. My heart’s desire is to provide help to those suffering from issues related to their overall well-being and mental health.  Such issues as: anxiety, depression, distress, relationship challenges, career development, addictions, abuse, self-esteem, transition, grief, adoption-related challenges and much more…

    Gordon MacKenzie, LCT-C

I have long been described as a person who listens well and is easy to talk to. In my work with young people, I coupled that skill with a desire to help people stuck in emotional, relational, and spiritual places.  These experiences, along with the passion to help, were being hindered due to my lack of knowledge and training. This led me to go back to school to study for my Masters of Education (MEd) in Counselling Psychology at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) Fredericton in 2008. Upon graduation, I began counselling part-time, first in our church and community in Halifax, NS for 5 years and then in Honduras for 7 years because we moved there and became Global Ministries Personnel. We returned home in 2020, shortly after the COVID crisis began, and I began following my passion to help others and the process of establishing my counselling practice back in Canada.
