    Counselling Therapist

Ever since I was a little girl, I have been the type of person that people felt safe disclosing their struggles to. This led me to begin my studies at Crandall University in pursuit of a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Communication Studies. Following my Bachelor degree, I got married and after working in a group home and the school system for a few years, we began our family. It was after having three kids and adopting a fourth that I felt a strong passion to go back to school and study my Masters of Education in Counselling at Acadia University. My dream came true! Following this experience, I began working in a University setting and taking on a few private clients. In July of 2016, we moved to the Philippines to work as Global Field Staff. In the Philippines, I worked in an International School with clients all over the world both in person and online. In April 2020, we took a repatriation flight back home to Canada due to Covid-19 where I recently started my own business called Embracing Hope Counselling Services Inc. I have been licensed as a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association since 2014. Also, I am a Licensed Counselling Therapist (LCT-C) with The College of Counselling Therapy of New Brunswick since 2020

"We have this hope as an anchor for the soul firm and secure"

    - Hebrews 6:19

The therapeutic alliance is of utmost importance to me and because of that relationship, I hope to help you find hope, restoration, growth and healing. My professional focus is to personally offer counselling from a non-biased, neutral and active listening approach. This encourages self-disclosure in every session, while embracing the hope of new beginnings, as you start to journey down a path to wellness.

My preferred methods are Eclectic and Person-Centred. I believe that people are their own expert, but they may need some support to see their strengths. This approach helps us to grow and discover the ability to see change occur. My aim is to offer that support in a comfortable and laid-back atmosphere, offering a safe space for healing to begin. My heart’s desire is to provide help to those suffering from issues related to their overall well-being and mental health. Such issues as: anxiety, depression, distress, relationship challenges, career development, addictions, abuse, self-esteem, transition, grief, adoption-related challenges and much more… I understand transition.

I have acquired a high level of multi-cultural competence due to my overseas experience and our adoption experience. I know how intimidating it can be to see a counsellor for the first time. I’ve been there too! Let’s conquer this together!
